📍STEP 1: Get Knowledgeable on Pay Transparency Requirements

There are 12 state-wide enactments and 3 additional local counties/cities with pay transparency laws on the books. Another 13 states have proposed legislation in the works that has not yet been passed.

If all 13 states pass almost half the country will have enacted various forms of pay transparency laws.

In addition, in March 2023 the Salary Transparency Act and Pay Equity for All Act was introduced to Congress. If both laws pass, pay transparency would be nation wide.

Get educated on which states require pay transparency so you can make a plan to update your JDs accordingly.
